Our column entitled The Road Less Traveled appears in each quarterly issue of RV Journal magazine www.rvjournal.com, a western regional RV travel magazine. The Fall 2008 issue features Janet's photo of an Eastern Sierra waterfall near South Lake on the cover (see image to the right). You can read our story on the Eastern Sierra and see more photos at www.rvjournal.com/2cFeature1.html Our column visits Colorado's Red Rock Parks. For the upcoming Winter 2008 issue we will take you to the desert for history, colorful scenery and wildflowers.
Watch for more stories, in various publications, on Olympic National Park, California and more. As we get closer to publication dates, we’ll let you know where and when to find them.
On our recent travels to Oklahoma one of the places we loved was Guthrie, a small town about 30 miles north of Oklahoma City. About 10,000 people moved here in one day during the 1889 Oklahoma Land Run. When Guthrie lost the status of Oklahoma's Capital in 1910, many residents left and it became a sleepy little town, luckily for us. Today the downtown is beautifully restored, the largest historic district in the United States, and designated a National Monument. So where else have we been and where are we going next? In September we traveled to Africa and our Blog recounts our adventures in Zambia, Botswana and South Africa. Postcards 1-3 tell our stories and Postcard 4 adds more images to get your attention. Click here to view our Postcards and to connect to our Blog and read about our adventures.
This Winter we will be traveling in Southern California working on a story and we are planning a foreign getaway not yet decided. We're thinking South America, Costa Rica or New Zealand and we're looking for your ideas. Where have you been? Later in the year we will travel to Washington State with Janet's sister to be lighthouse keepers for a week. Our Blog will tell you about all our adventures as they unfold.
